Meet Ryder
Ryder Mains began his love of fishing at the early age of three. He quickly outgrew his Disney Cars fishing pole and moved to a spinning rod. By age seven he had perfected his skills with a baitcaster. At age nine he began competing in adult bass team tournaments with his dad. By age ten he won his first adult team tournament on Truman Lake, reeling in half of the winning weight. That same year, he purchased a fly fishing rod and began tying his own flies. Since 2016, Ryder has qualified for four national championship tournaments and has won the Kansas State Championship twice. In his first year of fishing at the high school level, he was runner-up Kansas BASS Nation “Angler of the Year”. In 2020, the Topeka Capital-Journal stated Ryder and his high school fishing partner, Mason Chapman, were the Team of the Year.
Ryder continues to develop his angling skills including fly tying, fly fishing on rivers and lakes, competing in bass tournaments and fishing for fun with family and friends. His other hobbies include playing golf with his brother and dad, filming & editing, archery, and building just about anything.
